Knit-Wits

We all know what knit means but get a load of what wit means:
–noun
1. the keen perception and cleverly apt expression of those connections between ideas that awaken amusement and pleasure.
2. speech or writing showing such perception and expression.
3. a person having or noted for such perception and expression.
4. understanding, intelligence, or sagacity; astuteness.
5. Usually, wits.
a. powers of intelligent observation, keen perception, ingenious contrivance, or the like; mental acuity, composure, and resourcefulness: using one's wits to get ahead.
b. mental faculties; senses: to lose one's wits

A few of us who have been buying a lot of yarn lately thought maybe it was time to get together and knit instead of shop. At the May meeting it seemed that Thursday was a better nights So a bunch of us from Knit-Lit got together on a couple of Thursdays at a couple of different places to knit. At our June Meeting the group seemed to like Cravings in White Bear Lake the best. It is just off of 61 a little east on County Road E. A good time for all seems to be 6:30.

The Knit-Wits will meet on the 1st and 4th Thursday of the month at Cravings in White Bear Lake.

A member of our group has a dad that had been calling us the Knit-Wits and I loved that name for our subgroup. Anyone can come when they want and leave when they must. There will be no book to read. Just knitting with other knitters. Some of us have dinner some just come for dessert.

Hope to see you on Thusday June 25th at 6:30.

June Meeting

Our June meeting was our last Thursday meeting for the year. For the rest of the year we will be meeting on the second Tuesday of the month.

We had 12 people at our June meeting as we discussed The Free Range Knitter by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee. There were great questions and it helped us get to know each other better.

Several of us got out and knit on National Knit In Public Day this year and maybe we could all get together and knit someplace next year.

Hope you are all out knitting in the beautiful weather.
