Becky's Moving This Week

Becky leaves this week for Columbia Maryland. Her partner Michelle got a job at Wells Fargo and will start August 4th. Columbia Maryland is in-between both sets of parents. Becky's last day at Maplewood library was July 24th. When I stopped in to say goodbye she said it didn't seem real but her apartment was such a mess that it must be real. They plan to stay in a hotel until they can find and apartment. As I hear news about the move and there new jobs I'll keep you posted. Looking forward to seeing you all August 12th as we discuss Knitalong: Celebrating the Tradition of Knitting Together by Larissa and Martin Brown.

Voting Results for Fall of 2008

On September 11th (Remember the later date due because of voting at the Library) we will be reading Sisterhood of the Dropped Stitches by Janet Tronstad. Chris and Pauline are going to lead our discussion. The vote put this book in second place but since it is about younger women I thought it would be good to do it in the back to school month of September.

On October 14th we will do the first place winner Needled To Death by Maggie Sefon. We did the first book in this series on our very first meeting. We are looking for a discussion leader. Or two of you could do it together.

On November 11th we will be doing The Shop on Blossom Street by Debbie Macomber. This is a first book in the Blossom Street series. Also looking for a discussion leader for this book.

We will vote again in October so give me sugestions for what books to consider.

Notes from July Meeting

We missed Becky at our first meeting without her. The group was small but we had a couple of fun new people. It was nice to catch up and see what everyone is working on. As always it was great to chat about our book of the month.

We voted on upcoming books.

On August 12th Hallie will lead us as we talk Knitalong: Celebrating the Tradition of Knitting Together by Larissa and Martin Brown
